Cornwall Council Challenges the Under Funding of Local Services

Members of Cornwall Council’s Cabinet and the incoming Chief Executive have met with Local Government Minister, Brandon Lewis MP, to raise the issue of underfunding to Cornwall Council.

Cornwall gets £408 per person of Government grant whereas the London Borough of Hackney gets £1,041 per person!

If Cornwall was given the same grant as even the average urban council then it would get £48 million more next year. That would prevent the loss of most threatened front line services.
