St Just/ Pendeen Proposed Bus Fare Increase is Reduced

I have just been contacted by Alex Carter, Director of First bus, informing me that the increased bus fare proposals have been reviewed and changed.

The single fare to Penzance will FALL from £4.30 to £4.00. The return fare will go from £5.50 to £6.00. The return ticket will be valid for 5 days rather than just a day return.

Thank you to those who brought this to my attention. Although as a Cornwall Councillor I cannot directly control bus fares, particularly on commercial routes like ours, this shows that, together, we can influence.

I have thanked Alex for his help on this and now await the expected improvement to the bus service for people living in Pendeen.
