Local Residents Say: Cornwall is becoming greener, cleaner, safer and a better place to live
Local Residents Say: Cornwall is becoming greener, cleaner, safer and a better place to live – which has to be a good news story!
The Liberal Democrats on Cornwall Council are committed to tackling climate change and making Cornwall a better place to live and the latest resident survey shows this is paying off.
There has been significant increases in residents agreeing that Cornwall Council is making the area greener, cleaner, safer, and a better place to live, whilst the percentage of residents agreeing that Cornwall Council is efficient and well run has also increased, up a whopping 20% since 2017.
Edwina Hannaford, Lib Dem portfolio holder for climate change at the Council said,
“I am delighted that the Lib Dem work through Cornwall Council on tackling climate change and making Cornwall greener is being recognised by the public. We have made a great start since we declared a Climate Emergency last year with the launch of our Forest for Cornwall project, the start of retrofitting council homes to make them more energy efficient and the introduction of greener buses. Of course, there is a lot more to do and we will continue to lead the way on this.”
Rob Nolan, Lib Dem portfolio holder for the Environment added,
“From speaking to people as I travel around Cornwall there is a real perception that things are getting better for residents and it is nice that is showing in public satisfaction through our survey. Greener, cleaner, safer and a better place to live.”
