Cornwall Council By-Election for People of Long Rock, Marazion and St Erth

Posted on: 9th January 2023

Cornwall Council by-election is on the cards for the people of Long Rock, Marazion and St Erth, due to their Conservative Councillor lacking the time to represent them. Background leading to by-election.

Despite the appalling weather, Liberal Democrats were out in force, around Goldsithney, on Saturday

We, as a constituency party, are busy talking to our Members to find the best candidate we can to ensure that people can vote for us knowing we will represent them properly. 12 of us were out last Saturday and we are going to need many more volunteers to deliver leaflets, knock on doors and display posters and stake boards. We will also need campaign funds to pay for leaflets and posters and behind the scenes people printing and stuffing envelopes.

If you can help in any way, ring 01736 335669 or email organiser@stiveslibdems.org.uk.

We have a candidate – John Martin. Excellent experience and track record as a local Councillors so, will hit the ground running, if the good people of that area elect him. We came 2nd to the Tories in 2 previous Cornwall Council elections here so, we are the best hope of there being 1 less Tory at County Hall.
