Baroness D’Souza to inspire people of Cornwall to get involved with Politics.

Below is your invitation to an event at County Hall on 16 October. This is for anyone to find out more and understand what is involved in being a local Councillor or even encourage you to believe you could stand for Parliament.

If you are reading this thinking you could not possibly do this then come along to discover why you could be just who your community is looking for!

How can we widen participation in our democratic institutions? And how can under-represented groups get their voices heard in Parliament and beyond?

with Lord Speaker Baroness D’Souza

County Hall, Truro

A free public talk on Friday 16 October at County Hall, Truro focusing on representation and democracy.

This special event will have a keynote speech from the Rt Hon Baroness D’Souza on women and democracy, and the role of the House of Lords. She will be joined by others involved in democracy at a more local level to take a look at how Cornwall’s under-represented groups can have a stronger voice and how to get involved on issues that matter to you.

There will also then be an open Q & A session with the panel, and the chance to network with other attendees.
