Funding available from Cornwall Council Community Chest

Posted on: 29th July 2013

As has been the case in previous years, each Cornwall Councillor has been allocated a budget that they can allocate to small community projects in their local area. Grants of between £100 and £1,000 can be given to help projects that benefit vulnerable young children and adults, facilities for older citizens and the youth of the Parish, environmental projects and projects that improve community safety. Full details of the criteria and application forms are available from Kerri Kendall on 01736 336732 or email kerri.gendall@cornwall.gov.uk.

Sue James, local Cornwall Councillor for the area has said “I would welcome applications from projects that have not received Community Chest funding before, projects that can use my support to obtain other sources of funding and those that benefit hard to reach groups.” She continued “I have a budget of £3,000 and I want the money to make a real difference to our community. The closing date for the first batch of applications is 6 September.”

Further applications will be considered early in December and February. Community Network officers can also provide advice to organisations on additional or alternative funding possibilities.
