Street Lights

I have discovered there are plans to dim 30,000 of the networks 52,000 street lights to 50% lighting, after midnight. This will deliver £100,000 per year of savings. Turning those same lights off after midnight would save a further £100,000. I know this idea will not be universally popular BUT nor will many of the other things we have to consider cutting. The bonus from this is that at least we are doing something to improve the environment and reduce energy consumption too. Obviously if we could dim or turn off more than 30,000 then more savings could be achieved.
