Penzance Police Station doors closed to public
Penzance Police Station doors closed to public today. From now, the public cannot call into the Police station in Penzance. The only Police station in West Cornwall, open to the public, will be in Camborne. Despite the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable accepting that the consultation over this closure was flawed, particularly in Cornwall, the Police and Crime Panel could not get the men to change their minds.
The closure of the enquiry desks at a further 12 police stations is said to save £750,000. The office of the Police and Crime Commissioner costs £1.8m. Which do you value more?
