Pendeen Surgery: the continuing saga.

The complexity of the Health Service and the illusion that it is all in public ownership probably explains most of the merry-go-round I’ve been on! I won’t bore you with all the details of my going around in circles being pushed from pillar to post because it will probably make you dizzy!

Pendeen Doctor’s Surgery – still awaiting definite news

Those that have been following the story will know that the Town Council agreed to apply to Cornwall Council to have the surgery building listed as an Asset of Community Value. After some conversations amongst senior Council staff, the Town Council were advised this might not be the best route to safeguard the health services in Pendeen. The Town Council agreed to allow that application to be suspended.

Since then, a senior officer in the Council has been allocated to find a way to secure health services in Pendeen. I am in regular contact with them. Whilst we have no solution on the table yet, a positive step forward is that NHS England who commission GP Services are now in active dialogue with Cornwall Council.

I know these words mean little to those that are anxious BUT I am pushing all parties to communicate better and will continue to do so.

I really wish I had more tangible news or that my holding a public meeting might help BUT unless I can get the key people in the NHS to agree to speak, there is little I can really say that would be factual.
