It’s Time to Have Your Say on Cornwall Council’s Budget Proposals
It’s Time to Have Your Say on Cornwall Council’s Budget Proposals – what are your priorities? What would you cut, what services would you protect and where would you spend more money?
Cornwall Council plays a huge part in many people’s lives – ensuring children and young people have the best start in life, protecting vulnerable people, maintaining a safe road system and helping to create a thriving economy. However, since the Unitary Council set up in 2009, the Government has cut our grant from £364m to just £84m – that is an almost 87% cut and is the reason why, sadly, we are having to increase your Council tax whilst cutting local services – the worst of all worlds! Just imagine what the cuts might look like if we were not putting Council tax up?
I’m hosting an informal drop in event in Penzance on October 24 between 10 & 12 by Warrens in the shopping centre at Wharfside.
