Funding Promise to Improve Safety on A3071 Penzance to St Just Road has been announced by Government. This will see a potential maximum funding contribution of £1,940,000 towards a total scheme cost of £1,980,000 from the 2020/21 financial year.

The details of what the scheme will offer are yet to be finalised and will involve consultation with local Councils and the public. It should be able to address the key junctions and maybe able to reduce other hazards. In reality, it will not remove all hazards such as Cornish Hedges, cannot make the road straight or drivers always travel at a sensible speed for the conditions.
