Call for Potential Housing Sites on Brownfield Land

Posted on: 27th July 2015

Call for potential housing sites on brownfield land is under way by Cornwall Council. Applications must be in by 5pm on 7th September 2015.

The call for sites is to support the Cornwall Local Plan by helping to increase the amount of brownfield land in the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA). The SHLAA is a key piece of evidence base supporting the Local Plan although it is important to note that it does not allocate sites or imply that they should be granted planning permission.

The work will also inform a Register of Brownfield Land which is a feature of emerging Government proposals for a zonal system that will effectively give automatic permission on suitable brownfield sites (subject to the approval of details).

Further information on the call for sites, including how to submit sites, is available at www.cornwall.gov.uk/SHLAA.
